Blogette: Thought Post

THOUGHT POST ~ With a pretty plant
.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve had a draining day. I was pretty excited because I had the revelation that I can just bring fabric bags to get bulk grains and chocolate chips from the grocery store near me that doesn’t have the capability of using mason jars. So, I grabbed some rice and dark chocolate covered banana chips and easily checked them out from the cashier, but when I got home I noticed the bagger wrapped my cotton pouch holding the rice in a plastic bag to prevent it from falling out instead of just setting it upright. I didn’t notice her do it otherwise I would’ve said something.
.
Here’s the thing–this isn’t that big of a deal and I often end up getting stuck using single-use plastic when I’m out and about, but this really struck a chord with me. The tough part is knowing that the bagger only had good intentions, but it didn’t come across her mind that I brought my own bags so as to avoid the plastic.
.
The path I’m trying to pave (along with so many others in this community) is so incredibly difficult to continue on without being discouraged on a regular basis. I don’t want to shame anyone for not realizing the importance of changing our society’s mass habits, but i can’t help but feel incredibly sad and frustrated by the lack of awareness. .
I just keep going because I know someone has to. For those of you making these changes in your own lives–I’m sending you all the good vibes and encouragement to keep on kicking butt and making a difference.
